Around the World in Eighty Days | | | Comedy | | Frank Klass - In the second half of the 19th century, technological development continued to promote industrial progress. In London, the inventive scientist Fogg (played by Steve Coogan) often conducts crazy experiments on transportation vehicles. Although he is not recognized by the Royal Academy of Sciences, he is just an amateur, and his servants also left him because of too dangerous experiments. Liu Xing (Jackie Chan) from China robbed the Bank of England in order to retrieve the "Jade Buddha Statue", a treasure in his hometown. Inciting an endless pursuit by the British police and the Chinese criminal organization Black Scorpion, he had no choice but to change his name to "Passepartout" and serve as Fogg's servant. In order to replace the old-fashioned president of the Academy of Sciences, Fogg risked all his wealth and future to travel around the world in 80 days. Passepartout thought that he could use this trip to send the Buddha statue back to his hometown. After setting off, the two met Roche (Cécile De France), an amateur female painter obsessed with Impressionism in Paris and asked to go with them. They boarded the "Orient Express" with different purposes. Although there are many obstacles ahead, including the Turkish Prince (Arnold Schwarzenegger), General Black Scorpion (Mok Wenwei) and his subordinates (Daniel Wu), the three people with dreams will not be afraid of any dangers. 2004
