Season 1

Inspired by the true story of a group of characters struggling to survive in London's cutthroat East End in the 1880s, Hezekiah Moscow and Alec Munroe, two friends who fled Jamaica, are drawn into the criminal underbelly of London's thriving unprotected boxing scene. As Hezekiah gained wealth and fame through the art of boxing, he came to the attention of Mary Carr, the infamous Queen of the "Forty Elephants," who exploited his talents to further her own criminal enterprise. Meanwhile, dangerous self-proclaimed overlord of the East Side boxing world, Sugar Goodson, is determined to destroy Hezekiah, whose ambitions to compete in the West Side threaten everything he has built. What ensues is the struggle between the old world and the new world.
