Created by Vince Gilligan, the creator of "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul," and starring Rhea Seehorn of "Better Call Saul," it is a science fiction series that breaks genre boundaries and tells the story of the most miserable people on earth who must save the world from "happiness." Rhea Seehorn plays Carol, an emotionally numb best-selling author of historical romance novels who derides her work as "brainless garbage." As she embarks on a promotional tour for her new book, a mysterious phenomenon sweeps through the sleepy little town of Albuquerque, New Mexico: an apocalyptic virus (or maybe not apocalyptic, depending on who you ask) forcefully instilling optimism and contentment across the world.
