General Amin

Idi Amin Dada, the conservative and controversial ruler of Uganda in the 1970s. In 1971, he led the troops to launch a coup. During his reign, he actively expanded externally and implemented high-pressure rule at home to eliminate dissidents. A series of authoritarian tactics brought him international notoriety. In order to restore his reputation, Amin invited a French documentary team to film his daily work schedule. Director bet Schroeder did not make the film a laudatory work. He deleted large sections of Amin's speech and focused more on portraying his true character. The film has been released and caused a sensation, but it also angered Amin. He asked the crew to re-edit the film and take the French people staying in Uganda as hostages. This move shocked the world.
