At the Chengdu Panda Base in China, scientists work to breed adult pandas and introduce cubs into the wild.
The film focuses on a passionate researcher who develops a new technology inspired by the Black Bear Project in rural New Hampshire, USA. An American biologist came from across the country, a scientist from Inner Mongolia, and a very curious female panda cub "Qian Qian" who was born in captivity started a cross-border cooperation and embarked on a journey to change the lives of pandas.
Filmed with an IMAX camera, the film captures Qianqian's exciting new journey as she leaves her protected habitat and enters the mountains of Sichuan to discover the true nature of animals, even as she faces the challenges of an unknown future.
David Douglas & Drew Fellman ("Born to be Wild", "Madagascar: Island of Lemurs") direct, Fellman writes the script and produces, Douglas also serves as the director of photography, Donald Kushner and Steve Ransohoff produce, Li Gen Xiong & Elie Samaha executive produce, and Neal Allen serves as online producer.
