Versus the Cougars

Boone Smith knows the Cougars. He has dedicated his life to tracking, assisting and learning about cougars found throughout the world. But it wasn't easy in his backyard in Idaho. These predators are nicknamed "ghost cats" due to their elusiveness. Someone could be lurking in the rocks behind him and he would never know. But in two special places in South America, the situation is very different. In Chile, bold pumas in the wilderness attack their vicuñas in broad daylight. In Argentina, they decimate Humboldt penguin colonies and often leave their carcasses to rot. Boone immersed himself in his observations—observing these clever hunters and their tactics from a closer distance than most would dare.
