"In the Aisles" premiered in competition at the 2018 Berlin Film Festival. Stuber opens a window onto ordinary workers in eastern Germany, daily life is transformed into magical realism, and tender love stories are temporarily diverted to the level of hope. The shy and withdrawn Christian lost his job and later came to work in a wholesale market. He was cared for by Bruno, who was like a father in the beverage department. Christian fell in love with Marion, who they often joked with, but Marion was married and Christian's feelings for her seemed to be unfruitful.
