The Executioner 1963

"The Executioner" is the pinnacle work of the Spanish realist master Berlanga. It uses a spicy style to describe the story of a young man who dared not even fight a fly, but was forced by life to become an executioner. Although the film ranks high on the major Spanish classic film lists today, it has not been recognized by people for a long time because it was released during Franco's dark period.
