How to train an astronaut

In December 2015, Major Tim Peake will become the first British person to live on the International Space Station. Through exclusive interviews about his training, Horizon looks at what it takes to become an astronaut. The film follows Tim's meetings with engineers, physicists and technicians who will design and create the technology to launch Tim into space. Doctors and psychologists will monitor Tim's condition once he is in space. Featuring quotes from Tim's own video diaries, the film provides a unique account of the astronauts' lives before launch and life aboard the space station.
