Isabel (Gene Tierney) is deeply in love with pilot Labor (Tyrone Power) However, Lao Li, who had just experienced the devastation of the war, was not in the mood for romance. He chose to go to Paris, hoping to find the meaning of life there. A year passed in the blink of an eye, and Isabel went to look for labor, but because she couldn't bear the poor life there, she chose to marry the rich man Gray (played by John Payne). Several years later, when Gray went bankrupt due to various accidents, Isabel and her partner Sophie (Anne Baxter) returned to Paris again. Forced by life, Sophie became a prostitute.
