Death Instinct [Film and TV Commentary]

Jacques Meslin was a famous thief in France in the late 1970s. He had committed many armed robberies and murders, and was also a famous prison escapee. He is good at disguising himself and has used different appearances to blend in with the crowd, and is known as the "Thousand-Faced Thief". After 18 months of bloody escape, he was shot dead by a SWAT team at Porte de Clignancourt in Paris on November 2, 1979. The film recounts Mesrine's early experiences, starting with the Algerian War in 1959, when Mesrine served on the battlefield. This experience marked the "end of his period of innocence" and made him an "anarchist and dissatisfied with the status quo."
