The Great and Powerful [Film and TV Commentary]

Explosives expert Li Jie (Jet Li ) once made a misjudgment in the execution of a mission and witnessed his wife and children being bombed to death. Heartbroken, he resigned from office. While searching for the murderer of his wife and children, he boldly assumed a pseudonym and acted as a bodyguard and stand-in for the emperor and superstar Long Wei (played by Jacky Cheung), performing scenes of his escape from time to time. There are no clues other than remembering the murderer's voice. Television host Le Huizhen (played by Qiu Shuzhen) had doubts about Long Wei's performance and therefore followed him day and night. Long Wei was invited to attend a large jewelry exhibition. A gangster claiming to be Doctor (Xiao Wang) was planning to steal diamonds from the exhibition and sending his assistant, including Carina Chow, into the hotel as undercover public relations. On the day of the diamond jewelry exhibition, Li Jie escorted Long Wei to the scene and left after leaving home. Occasionally, he recognized a doctor's voice in the car and returned home to chase the criminals, performing a life-or-death melee.
