Modern Laughter Detective [Film and TV Commentary]

Pierre (Sammo Hung) (played by Takeshi Kaneshiro) led by his boss Ashi (played by Takeshi Kaneshiro) uncovered a large-scale drug transaction case, confiscated a large amount of drugs, and stored them as evidence in the police station. This batch of drugs was owned by Japanese businessman Yamamoto. In order to destroy the evidence and exonerate himself, Yamamoto sent a group of desperadoes to sneak into the police station and seize the drugs. Eventually, the drugs were stolen, but police captured one of the criminals alive. As a result, the gang kidnapped Pierre's girlfriend Rouqing (played by Zhou Haimei) and wanted to exchange hostages with the police. The anxious Pierre found his colleague and friend Wang Yuwen (played by Yuan Biao). Although the two had previous conflicts due to a small misunderstanding, they forged a deep friendship in their subsequent interactions. Pierre, Wang Yuwen and his party went deep behind enemy lines to cooperate with others, and launched a fierce battle with criminals.
