Legend 42 [Film and TV Commentary]

This film is adapted from the deeds of the famous baseball player Jackie Robinson. He was born on January 31, 1919 and died on October 24, 1972. He was the first black player in the history of Major League Baseball. On April 15, 1947, before he debuted in the Brooklyn Dodgers game as the starting first baseman wearing jersey No. 42, black players were only allowed to play in their own Negro Leagues. Although slavery in the United States had been abolished for a long time at that time, segregation policies were still practiced in many areas, and ubiquitous racial prejudice still strongly influenced all levels of society. Therefore, the day Robinson stepped onto the major league stage is recognized as one of the most important events in the history of the modern American civil rights movement.
