Chasing Dreams [Film and TV Commentary]

"Rudy" is adapted from the true story of Daniel Rudy. Rudy (Sean Astin), whose whole family is very fanatical about football games, is also a loyal supporter of the University of Notre Dame team. After graduating from high school, Rudy wanted to go to the University of Notre Dame, but gave up because of poor grades. After graduation, he worked in a steel factory. On his 22nd birthday, his friend gave him a jacket with the University of Notre Dame logo on it and encouraged him to realize his dream. The accidental death of his friend in a steel plant devastated Rudy. He abandoned his girlfriend, who was already talking about marriage, and boarded the train to Notre Dame University. After entering college, he studied and exercised extremely hard. With his tenacious fighting spirit, he was selected by the coach as a substitute for the school team, but he never had the chance to play. Finally, he came on as a substitute at a critical moment in an important game and helped the team win the game. Parents and family members present at the scene were also excited. After 1975, no one from Notre Dame was picked up on the spot. In 1976, Rudy graduated from the University of Notre Dame. His five brothers also went to college and graduated successfully.
