Michael (Matt McCoy) and Claire (Annabella Sciorra) ) co-raised their young daughter Emma (Madeline Zima), and lived a peaceful and contented life. Not long after, another little life came into Claire's belly, adding happiness to this happy family. However, during a subsequent prenatal check-up, Claire discovered that obstetrician-gynecologist Morton (played by John de Lancie) had evil intentions, so she filed a lawsuit against him, causing Morton to collapse and commit suicide, and Mrs. Morton (played by Rebecca De Mornay) also suffered a miscarriage and could no longer become pregnant. Six months passed in the blink of an eye, and the life in Claire's belly was born, named Joey. In order to take care of Joey, Claire decided to hire a nanny named Payton. Who knew that this woman's true identity turned out to be Mrs. Morton. This time she appeared next to Claire again incognito, just to complete her revenge plan.
