The tragic murder of the father and son in the previous episode left Lisabeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) (played by Georgi Staykov) was shot in the head and almost died, and Alexander Zarachenko (played by Georgi Staykov) was brutally hacked with an ax and seriously injured. The father and daughter lived together in Gothenburg's Saarge Hospital, while Lundmann Niederman (Micke Spreitz) continued to escape.
