White Bird in the Snowstorm

The film is adapted from the 1999 novel of the same name by American female writer Laura Kasischke. The story is set in a middle-class suburban American family in the 1980s. When Kate, played by Woodley, was 17 years old, her beautiful, mysterious and perfect housewife mother (played by Ava Green) suddenly disappeared. For Kate, who has lived in a repressive family environment since childhood, her mother's disappearance is almost a kind of "relieved" secret joy and comfort. But as time went by, she gradually discovered the impact of this incident on herself. When she returned home during the college break, she suddenly discovered the truth behind her mother's departure from home. She realized that all kinds of clues were right in front of her, but she had never discovered them.
