This film continues the "Our Story" series. The third part begins in 1979 and spans more than ten years to the golden years of the late 1980s. It tells the story of the second generation of the Lin family who moved with their neighbors from a kampung to a government housing estate and experienced great changes in Singapore's environment, policies and people's livelihood.
After the death of his sister, Akun (played by Li Guohuang) changed his life and became a taxi driver. He often clashed with his younger nephew Shunfa because of the generation gap. In the 1980s, Singapore was implementing many reform policies. Akun was often dissatisfied with many of the government's policies, such as the forced closure of Chinese schools and Singapore's elite system. As a result, he decided to "sing a different tune" from the government and form an opposition party. How will everyone's story end?
