The Doomsday Philosopher

In the last philosophy class before graduation, 20 students were forced to participate in a thought experiment. They jumped from their squad rooms into the scene of the nuclear radiation catastrophe. If they failed to compete for a seat in the air-raid shelter, their organs would be instantly penetrated by radioactive dust, causing painful death. However, the oxygen and food in the air-raid shelter were only enough for 10 people to survive for one year. Philosophy students draw lots to determine their identities and skills. In order to continue the lifeline of mankind, they need to use philosophical logic, publicly consult and vote by show of hands to select the 10 most valuable people to live in the air-raid shelter. Smart people are more qualified to stay at a lower level than good people? Are engineers more valuable than poets? One vote extends one life, who should be sacrificed to achieve social success?
