The film is based on certain historical facts and real character prototypes. It tells the story of Liu Mingchuan, the famous Huai Army general in the late Qing Dynasty and the first governor of Taiwan, after the fall of Luzhou in the spring of 1938, and his descendants fought wits and courage with the Japanese invaders with the help of the New Fourth Army in order to protect the rare treasure-Guo Jizi Baipan, one of the three great bronzes in the West. It is understood that the Guo Jizi White Plate is the largest and heaviest bronze ware from the Shang and Zhou dynasties currently existing in China. In 1950, it was donated free of charge by Liu Su, the fourth generation grandson of Liu Mingchuan, and it is now stored in the National Museum of China.
