Xiaohua

It was a war-torn era. A poor family in Tongbai Mountain District sold their biological daughter Xiaohua to make a living, and then adopted a baby girl who was transferred to the Red Army. They also named the baby girl Xiaohua. More than ten years later, Xiaohua (played by Chen Chong)'s brother Zhao Yongping (played by Tang Guoqiang) joined the revolutionary ranks to avoid being captured. He was injured and fell behind in a battle. Fortunately, he was rescued by the female guerrilla captain He Cuigu (played by Liu Xiaoqing), who was another Xiaohua who was sold by her parents that year. At this time, when Zhao Xiaohua inquired about the whereabouts of his brother when he entered the People's Liberation Army in Tongbai Mountain, he happened to meet his biological mother, Dr. Zhou (Bai Lishi), and her mother and daughter met but did not know each other. Later, Dr. Zhou sympathized with the poor little girl and accepted her as his daughter. In this way, relatives who were separated more than ten years ago reunited again in the war. They came together to realize their common ideals and wrote a heroic song of heroism. This film was adapted from the novel "Heroes of Tongbai" and won the Best Feature Film Award at the 3rd Hundred Flowers Film Awards in 1980. Chen Chong won the Best Actress Award at the 3rd Hundred Flowers Awards and the Best Actress Award at the 9th Yugoslavia "Struggle for Freedom" Film Festival for this film.
