Sony Classics wins Shakespeare historical drama All Is True), directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Judi Dench and Ian McKellen. The film will be screened in New York and Los Angeles for a week on December 21st to ensure it can participate in the awards season competition and be officially released next year. Set in 1613, Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest writer, but after his famous Globe Theater is razed to the ground, a crushed Shakespeare returns to Stratford where he must confront a troubled past and a neglected family. After the death of his only son Hamnet, he struggles to mend his broken relationship with his wife and daughter, and is forced to examine his own failings as a husband and father as his personal search for the truth reveals the secrets and lies within his family.
