"Batman: The Long Halloween" Inspired by the iconic DC stories from the mid-1990s by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, "Part One" begins with a brutal murder on Halloween, prompting Gotham City's young vigilante Batman to strike a deal with the city's only two incorruptible law enforcement officers (Sheriff James Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent) to take down Roman, the leader of the notorious Falcone crime family. But when more deaths occur on Thanksgiving and Christmas, it becomes clear that they're not dealing with ordinary gang violence, but a serial killer - and with each conflicting clue, their identity becomes increasingly difficult to discern.
