Facing the Gunfire

This film is based on real people and true events during the Korean War. In August 1950, the Korean People's Army captured Seoul and marched southward. South Korea recruited students to join the army and formed an "apprentice volunteer army" to resist tenaciously. Apprentice Wu Zhangfan (played by Cui Shengxian/T.O.P)'s unit was repelled by the People's Army. In order to supplement the troops, dozens of apprentices joined the battle sequence, including the bad student Jia Zhao (played by Kwon Sang-woo) whose parents were killed by the People's Army. These apprentices formed a 71-man team, led by Wu Zhangfan as the captain to defend Pohang, while the South Korean troops moved to the Nakdong River, the last line of defense before Busan. A lonely team of apprentice soldiers set up defense in an abandoned school. What they are about to face is the elite 766 unit of the Korean People's Army. In order to complete the task of the supreme leader, Major Park Moo-rang (played by Cha Seung-won) of the People's Army ordered an attack on Pohang, which is closer to Busan...
