Red Army and White Army

After the Russian Revolution in 1919, the civil war broke out. On the Volga Plain, many Hungarians joined the Soviet Red Army in a war of attrition against the White Army... A Red Army soldier from Hungary was killed in the river beside the village. The White Army drove through the village to promote propaganda, as if victory was already within reach. The destitute Red Army soldiers ran back to the camp, where there were also White Army prisoners. The Red Army took off the prisoners' clothes and humiliated them, but in the blink of an eye the camp was surrounded by the White Army again. It was the Red Army soldiers who lost their uniforms this time. The uniforms became the only mark for people to distinguish between ourselves and the enemy. The revenge of erasing each other's identities and massacres repeated between the two parties... Several Red Army soldiers escaped from the camp and fled to the end of the world in the pursuit of the White Army. Everything they encountered was destined to be a helpless cycle that ended in death. This film is one of the masterpieces of the Hungarian New Wave.
