Hanabi 1997

Kei Nishika (played by Takeshi Kitano) is a policeman. His daughter unfortunately died a few years ago, and now his wife (played by Kaseko Kishimoto) is suffering from leukemia and has reached an advanced stage. His partner Horibe (played by Ren Osugi), who kindly asked him to visit his wife, was seriously injured during the mission, resulting in paralysis of his lower body and a wheelchair. Later, Nishi mishandled an arrest operation, which led to the death of his junior Tanaka (played by Makoto Ashikawa). He resigned after taking the blame, thinking about supporting Tanaka's widow (played by Yuko), getting close to and comforting his old friend Horibe, and the underworld chasing him to demand interest, all of which made Nishi feel overwhelmed. He decided to take the plunge and do something risky to put an end to everything. Finally, west accompanied his wife on a journey with no return.
