Flying to the Center of the Earth

A girl Wenwen (played by Yang Yuhan) was buried for 3 days in the earthquake. After she was rescued, she was convinced that her father was still traveling in the center of the earth. She tries to save her father, who can tell fairy tales, by traveling through time in places where she can draw broad beans. Wenwen's mother (played by Gong Beibi) took her into a new home, where her grandma (played by Zhang Zhihua), father and brother (played by Chen Xinyu) lived. However, Wenwen faces a series of complex parent-child relationship entanglements and contradictions. The relationships between family members are intertwined, including conflicts and frictions between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, son and father, husband and wife, stepmother and son, mother and daughter. Wenwen's mother struggles to understand and help her daughter, but ultimately these parent-child relationships fail in elusive ways. In this process, Wenwen chose to close herself in the imaginary world of the fairy tale "Underground Root Mother" created by her father. With the help of her paintings, she travels through the center of the earth in this fantasy underworld, trying to escape the fact that her father is dead. The conflict between the family was eventually intensified by her grandmother's act of praying to God, and Wenwen's mother finally chose to take her away from home.
