Gangubai Katyawadi

Ganga Hajivandas (Aaliya Bhatt) was born into a wealthy family in Kathiawar. Her dream is to become a Bollywood actress. At the age of 16, she fell in love with Ramnik Lal (Varun Kapoor). Ramnik replied that Ganga could enter the film industry under the guidance of his aunt Sheila, so they eloped to Mumbai. However, her life has changed dramatically since then. She had to start prostitution as he sold her to a brothel in Kamathipura for Rs 1,000. Later, she became the powerful brothel proprietress Gangubai Katiawadi and won the election in the district where she lived (Kamatipura). Don Rahim Lara became her sworn brother after he beat up an accomplice who raped her. Gangu later fell in love with Afsan, a young tailor. She has advocated for women's rights and equal rights for sex workers.
