This film is adapted from the second novel in the "Leather Stockings" series by American writer Cooper.
During the Seven Years' War in 1757, the British and French armies were fighting fiercely in the North American colonies. Officer Duncan leads a team to escort the chief's daughter Kona (Madeleine Stowe) to Fort William Henry. They are ambushed by French Indians on the way. The last warriors of the Mohicans - Jincajia (Russell Means), Uncas and his son, and the white man Hawkeye (Daniel Day-Lewis) come to the rescue. But when they arrived at the fortress, they found that the place was in flames of war. The fortress chiefs, Monroe and Duncan, acted toughly and refused to let go of the militiamen and surrendered their combat power, and imprisoned Hawkeye. At this time, Kona had fallen in love with Hawkeye, but was unable to save her. The British army abandoned the fort and surrendered after the war was unfavorable.
