Reply 1988 (plot commentary)

The story takes the 1988 Seoul (today's Seoul) Olympics as the background and tells the story of five families living in Ssangmun-dong, Dobong District, Seoul. Among the children of these five families, Deok-sun, Sun-woo, Dong-yong, Choi Taek, and Jung-hwan were all born in 1971. They were good friends who grew up together. In 1988, they were in their 18-year-old youth. They had common interests and idols they worshiped together. Among these five men and women, there were also ambiguous feelings between men and women. In that innocent era, they created many beautiful memories together.
