Bitter Moon

Nigel (played by Hugh Grant) is trapped in a seven-year itch in his marriage. He and his wife Fiona (played by Kristin Scott Thomas) decided to take a cruise to India to try to change their bad relationship. On the boat, he meets the paralyzed writer Oscar (played by Peter Coyote) and his beautiful wife Mimi (played by Emmanuelle Seigner). Oscar seems to be telling the stranger Nigel about the abnormal relationship between him and Mimi. When Oscar first met Mimi, the two fell in love with each other, and the fire of lust was burning brightly. However, the captivating charm of her breasts only fascinated Oscar for a short time. He began to get tired of it. Even though Mimi had an abortion, had her uterus removed, and was deeply devoted to him, Oscar still cruelly sent her away. After a car accident, Oscar, who was lying in the hospital, suddenly discovered that Mimi was standing in front of his bed and angrily dragged him out of the bed. Oscar was disabled for life.
