"The Searching Master" tells a heart-warming healing story about "searching for love, and then finding the true self" in contemporary cities. Five people with very different personalities, who never knew each other but worked together for charity, established a "Person Searching Society" with the purpose of "service" to help others find separated, disconnected and lost people. Lin Yuanyu, who was wandering the market alone, happened to participate in the "Looking for Dogs Project" launched online, and met four people with very different personalities, Qi Qiu, Qiu Ling, Xia Guduo and Zhou Zhou. Through this dog-hunting cooperation, they came together to set up a charity tracing organization to help people in need free of charge in their spare time. At first, everyone didn't like each other, but they gradually established a deep friendship as they walked hand in hand again and again, and gained the touch of helping others through the twists and turns of the experience - helping the veterans find the childhood emotions of their comrade-in-arms' wives and the youthful throbbing of their first love on campus. They also healed their scars in the process of searching for someone, faced their own hearts, found their true selves, and understood the true meaning of searching for someone. After seeing too many scenes of family reunions, Lin Yuanyu finally admitted what he longed for deep in his heart, and bravely proposed to everyone that he hoped to find his father who had disappeared for 22 years when he was growing up.
