During the Xi'an Incident, Wei Dahe, who led his troops to seize the Chishui River and reverse the situation of the incident, was demoted back to his hometown. When the Anti-Japanese War broke out, he returned to the front line and was sent to the Zhongtiao Mountain guerrilla column jointly formed by the Kuomintang and the Communist Party. Faced with the mutual strife of various forces, Wei Dahe still repeatedly made extraordinary achievements. With the help of Gao Xiaoshan, the commander of the Eighth Route Army, Fu Yang, Jiang Yazhen, the underground workers of our party, and others, Wei Dahe experienced a life transformation from anti-communist to pro-communist and grew into an outstanding Communist Party member after a series of brutal struggles with the Japanese army such as the bloody battles on Horseback Mountain, Snowflake Mountain, Yongji and the defense of the base area. After Gao Xiaoshan's sacrifice, Wei Dahe fought wits and courage with the Kuomintang die-hards to preserve the guerrilla column, and at the same time led the Shaanxi army to fight bravely in the Zhongtiao Mountain area. He skillfully used guerrilla tactics to deal with the Japanese army, forcing Jiucun Jiuzang to be unable to send troops, and completely shattered the Japanese army's strategic attempt to advance westward. In the end, he led the remaining troops to contain the main force of the Japanese army in Guirenmao. He preferred death to surrender and fought bloody battles to the end, composing a magnificent heroic hymn with his life.
