Tao Zhu

On November 30, 1969, the proletarian revolutionary Tao Zhu passed away at the age of 61. Tao Zhu was born in Qiyang, Hunan Province and joined the Communist Party of China in 1926. Participated in the Nanchang Uprising and Guangzhou Uprising. After the founding of New China, he served successively as secretary of the South China Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and second political commissar of the South China Military Region, governor of Guangdong Province, first secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee, first secretary of the Central and Southern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and political commissar of the Guangzhou Military Region, vice premier of the State Council, standing secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, director of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Eighth CPC Central Committee. This play condenses Comrade Tao Zhu's short but shining life, and reproduces Comrade Tao Zhu's strong family affection and nostalgia, his noble style of being strict with himself and caring for the people, and his glorious image as a communist.
