"Old Traditional Chinese Medicine" is set in Shanghai from 1927 to 1946. It tells the story of Weng Quanhai, a descendant of the Menghe Medical School in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, who went to Shanghai and devoted his life to the protection and inheritance of traditional Chinese medicine culture. The play aims to use the experiences of small characters to reflect the big historical pattern, to show the infinite charm of traditional Chinese medicine culture, as well as the strong vitality of traditional Chinese medicine that has been passed down for thousands of years and lasts forever. It eulogizes the Chinese people's national spiritual characteristics of perseverance, hard work and trustworthiness, generosity and kindness, and fear of power, nourished by traditional culture.
