Tangshan Earthquake 2013

On July 28, 1976, a tragic earthquake struck Tangshan. The city turned into ruins overnight, and Wan Dacheng (Zhang Hanyu), the husband of Li Yuanni (played by Chen Xiaoyi) who worked as a teacher at the Cultural Palace, and the physically and mentally traumatized mother was forced to make a painful choice: twin siblings Wan Deng and Wanda could only save one person. Wan Deng, who was "abandoned" by his mother, survived by chance, but he never knew that he would be separated from his mother forever. Wang Deqing (played by Zhang Guoli) of the People's Liberation Army adopted Wan Deng as his adopted daughter, and father and daughter have a deep love. On the other side, Yuanni lived a hard life on her own, but her son's ineffective performance made her extremely sad, and she missed her daughter whose life or death was uncertain even more. As time goes by, the two siblings Wan Deng and Wanda gradually grow up and experience the ups and downs of life together. What the great earthquake left to them was memories that can never be erased and family ties that can never be let go... This film is adapted from the novella "Aftershock" by Chinese-American female writer Zhang Ling.
