In the summer of 1931, Lin Daojing, who graduated from Xishan Girls' High School, chose to resist marriage and run away in order to pursue freedom. She was desperate and felt that the world was huge but there was no place for her. She was confused and wanted to commit suicide by throwing herself into the sea, but was rescued by college student Yu Yongze. The enthusiastic and talented Yu Yongze immediately moved Lin Daojing. In Peiping, Lin Daojing met progressive students and Communist Party members Lu Jiachuan, Jiang Hua and others, and understood many principles of revolution to save the country. On these issues, Yu Yongze has completely different views from himself. During a student movement, Lu Jiachuan was arrested because of Yu Yongze's unwillingness to help. Lin Daojing resolutely left Yu Yongze and joined the surging patriotic student movement.
