The Promise

This work consists of six stories, namely "New Year's Eve Dinner", "Promising Youth", "Very Summer", "Longing", "Forever Youth", "A Bowl of Duck Blood and Vermicelli Soup". The overall name is "The Agreement", which means that "building a moderately prosperous society in all respects by 2020" is a happy agreement between the party, the country and the people. Against the background of this big "promise", each story is composed of small agreements connected in series. Some of these agreements are between the protagonist and himself, some with old friends, some with family members, and even with strangers. The six stories emotionally involve family, love, and friendship; the ages of the protagonists range from teenagers to old people; the regions range from cities to rural areas, from farmers to workers, to white-collar elites. "Promise" uses a rich perspective to show people's happiness in realizing the "promise" with themselves, others, and the country.
