Military Doctor

Lin Wu Ge (Deng Chao) and Guo Sanmei (Li Xiaoran) are a pair of childhood sweethearts. The third sister is actively making progress, and the fifth brother just wants to be a good doctor. They have differences in their choices of life paths. The snobbish father Guo wanted to marry his third sister to a big warlord as his concubine, but rejected his fifth brother's proposal. The third sister escaped from marriage on a rainy night and joined the revolution. Father Guo was afraid that the family would be scandalized, so he pretended to the public that the third sister had hanged himself. The warlord learned of the death of the third sister and robbed the second sister. At the critical moment, the fifth brother stepped forward and called the second sister his fiancée. In order to protect the Guo family and the second sister from accidents, the fifth brother married the second sister. After the marriage, the two lived a quiet life. The kind-hearted second sister was gentle and considerate, silently supporting and taking care of the fifth brother. The fifth brother also devoted himself to the family, but his longing for the third sister always lingered in the fifth brother's heart. After joining the New Fourth Army, the third sister returned to her hometown to collect medicines. Knowing that the fifth brother and her sister were married and had children, she had to keep their feelings sealed in their hearts. The sudden appearance of his still-dead lover disturbed Fifth Brother's peaceful life. Fifth Brother tried his best to support Third Sister's revolutionary work in order to express his undying love for Third Sister. At the end of the play, the second sister is kidnapped by the Japanese army in order to save the fifth brother. Her life or death is uncertain, and the third sister falls under the gunpoint of the Japanese army. The fifth brother finally takes up arms and rushes to the anti-Japanese battlefield to fight for his family and the nation.
