General Ye Ting

In his early years, Ye Ting actively participated in the democratic revolutionary movement, crusaded against Chen Jiongming, and defended Sun Yat-sen. During the turbulent torrent of the Great Revolution, he was a famous general in the Northern Expedition. The independent regiment he led was once famous as the "Iron Army" and later became the leader of the Nanchang Uprising and the Guangzhou Uprising. One of those who fired the first shot against the reactionary rule of the Kuomintang; in the raging anti-Japanese war, he was the commander of the New Fourth Army jointly recognized by the Kuomintang and the Communist Party.
