Aunt Duohe

In 1945, Japan was defeated. The eight-year war has caused great trauma to the people of both China and Japan. In Northeast China, a Japanese village gathered together. After learning the news of their defeat, the villagers committed collective suicide. The beautiful Japanese girl Dohe (played by Sun Li) was the only survivor of this disaster. After several twists and turns, Duohe, who narrowly escaped death, came to the home of Zhang Shijiang (played by Du Yuan) in Ping'an Town. The Zhang family suffered many setbacks during the Anti-Japanese War. Their eldest son was murdered by the Japanese, and their second daughter-in-law, Zhu Xiaohuan (played by Yan Xuejing), even lost her fertility due to persecution. Duohe's arrival caused huge turmoil and contradictions in the Zhang family. As his understanding with the Zhang family deepens, Duohe appreciates their care for him and deeply sympathizes with Xiaohuan's experience, so he is willing to give birth to children for Zhang Shijiang's second son Zhang Jian (played by Jiang Wu).
