Song of Youth 1999

The play is adapted from the red classic novel "Song of Youth" by the famous writer Yang Mo. Through an in-depth portrayal of the protagonist Lin Daojing's personal destiny changes and ideological and character development, it vividly reproduces the magnificent tide of the times from September 18th to December 9th. The tenacious struggle of young intellectuals to resist the invasion of Japanese imperialism and save the motherland in danger. In the summer of 1931, Lin Daojing, the daughter of a landlord who resisted marriage and ran away, threw herself into the sea and was rescued by Peking University student Yu Yongze. The talented Yu Yongze became Lin Daojing's first love. After meeting Communist Lu Jiachuan, Lin Daojing began to come into contact with revolutionary ideas. Yu Yongze repeatedly prevented her from participating in revolutionary activities, leading to Lu Jiachuan's arrest. Lin Daojing woke up from a dream in the face of the painful facts, determined to leave the vulgar, selfish and mediocre Yu Yongze, and join the torrent of anti-Japanese and national salvation. From then on, under the guidance of revolutionaries, she gradually overcome her weakness and eventually became a mature proletarian revolutionary warrior.
