Storm on the Black River

In 1918, Dai Zhiyuan, an overseas Chinese in Russia, held an engagement ceremony with the Russian girl Lilia arranged by his father. He was attacked by the Japanese army and fled back to Heihe alone. Gu Shuyuan fell in love with him, but he fell in love with his childhood sweetheart Lin Yin. Lin Yin went to Russia to protect the revolutionary youth and was seriously injured and fell into the river. The Japanese occupied Heihe, and Dai Zhiyuan rose up to resist. His family business was destroyed and he fled to Russia. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Dai Zhiyuan returned to Heihe. Lin Yin and her son Lin Yuanfang returned to Heihe to lead the fight against the enemy. When the bandit leader wanted to kill Dai Zhiyuan, Lin Yuanfang stepped forward and died to save him. Dai Zhiyuan met Lin Yin and learned that the person who died for him was his own son. The whole play reflects the joys and sorrows of the characters' fate under the changing times.
