In the autumn of 1941, a large number of Japanese fighter planes violently bombed Chengdu. Yang Shaocheng, the young shopkeeper of the century-old Jinjiangchun brand, witnessed a big explosion in the jeep of the garrison commander Ye Huaizhong. Commander Ye was killed on the spot, and his adjutant Ling Hui was covered in blood and seriously injured. Shaocheng sent him to the hospital.
