The Young Emperor

Shunzhi Emperor Fulin (Deng Chao) (played by Pan Hong), a teenager ascended to the throne with the support of Prince Regent Dorgon and his mother, the Queen Mother Xiaozhuang (played by Pan Hong). His entire boyhood was shrouded in the shadow of Dorgon's tyranny. Although he had great ambitions and ideals, he was restricted and unable to realize them. Fulin, whose fate was at the mercy of others, even completed his marriage under the sole arrangement of Queen Xiaozhuang on the eighth year after he ascended the throne, and was forced to marry his cousin Borzigit (played by Hao Lei) as the queen. The queen's arrogant and jealous temper was in constant conflict with the young emperor. Fulin didn't like his cousin, so he ignored her even more. By chance, Fulin met the talented Wu Yunzhu (played by Huo Siyan), and he gradually developed a true love for her. However, he lost his beloved because of his indiscretion, and mistakenly gave Wu Yunzhu to his younger brother Boguoer, the king of Guojun, as his wife. Later, the young emperor summoned Wu Yunzhu, who was now the princess, many times on the pretext of discussing literary and ink. The two people, who were deeply in love with each other, finally could no longer break away from this already mired love. Emperor Shunzhi overcame everyone's objections and married his younger brother's wife despite pressure from all sides. But the sweet life did not last long. Going against the rules made the relationship controversial, and Emperor Shunzhi's special favor for Wu Yunzhu aroused jealousy and hatred from others.
