It is the winter of 1948, and the civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party has reached its final stage of intensification. The Kuomintang has been defeated, and the unification of the country by the Communist Party of China has become the general trend. Before it was about to be defeated, the Kuomintang government attempted to smuggle a batch of national treasures to Taiwan. This task, code-named "Zhongshan No. 1," eventually fell on the head of Dai Wei (played by Mo Xiaoqi), the Foreign Affairs Secretary of the Presidential Palace.
