Saijo Takumi (voiced by Yoshino Yuyuki) is a standard loser, with a weak and irresponsible personality. He lives in a container and plays online games at home every day except for classes. He is deeply addicted to the two-dimensional world and believes that all three-dimensional things have nothing to do with him. At this time, a series of bizarre murders called "New Gene" were taking place in the Shibuya area, which was notorious for the tragic death of the victims. One day, Takumi met a mysterious figure in an online chat room who claimed to be a general (voiced by Dai Yongyi). The general predicted the next murderous incident in a relishing tone, and sent photos of bloody and violent scenes. At first, Takuki dismissed him as a prankster, but a few days later, everything the general predicted came true. Takuki secretly sneaked into the crime scene, met a girl covered in blood and had empty eyes, Rifuka Sakiba (voiced by Eri Kitamura), and determined that she was the murderer. But not long after, Rifuka appeared in front of Takuki as an old friend. Who is the murderer? What is the true face of the general? Between reality and fantasy, Takumi's chaotic mind has to make life-related choices again and again.
