On June 22, 2004, the official website of the "Kannazuki no Miko" animation was launched. In the August 2004 issue of the manga magazine "Monthly Shōnen Ace" (on sale on June 26), the decision to adapt "Kannazuki no Miko" into a TV animation was officially announced. The TV animation premiered on October 1, 2004, with a total of 12 episodes. The ancient god Orochi attempted to destroy the world, thus creating two savior witches. In order to seal Orochi again, Kurusugawa Himeko, who was originally an ordinary high school student, but was reincarnated as the Sun Miko, and Himemiya Chikaon, the reincarnation of the Moon Miko, had to find a way to summon the legendary sword god Amano Sugamo. Orochi's eight servants (the eight dark sides of human nature) repeatedly tried to prevent the two from summoning Amano Sugamo. Attacked them; at this time, the great god Souma, who was supposed to be one of Orochi and ranked seventh, betrayed Orochi's will because he had a long-standing crush on Himeko, and repeatedly saved them, but this caused another crisis.
