In 1792, during the darkest era of Edo, the swordsman Manji (voiced by Seki Tomoichi) killed his evil boss and began his escape. While on the run, he unintentionally killed his brother-in-law who came to hunt him. Regretful, Wan Ci wanted to put down his butcher knife, but the situation forced him to continue fighting. Eight hundred bhikkhunis buried a foreign object called "Blood Fairy Insect" in Wan Ci's body. This foreign object can make the host immortal, but it will also bring endless pain and torture to the host. In order to break this immortal curse, Wan Ci decided to kill a thousand evil people to atone for the sins he had committed. In the process of killing thousands of people, Manci met Rin (voiced by Rina Sato), a girl who was burdened with a dark fate. Manci was moved by Rin's life experience and determined to avenge her.
